Life as a chess game

In my younger years, my brother David and I became fans of chess. It is a great way to exercise your mind and for us to prove who was the smartest! That outcome is still on the table. It was a game that not only challeged you in remembering all of the various movement of peices but also was geared to thinking about the next move. A real chess player thinks ahead several moves and therefore sees the goal as steps in a process.

I have come to the conclusion that God is the grestest chess player of all. Of course he has a great advantage as He knows every move and the outcome. In my adult life, God has "let" me remain in my various ministries assignments for long periods of time. After graduating from Bethany Bible College, we joined the administration and remained there for 15+ years. Our total time there was about 20 years. In our next assignment in Arvada Colorado, we spent 19 years in pastoral ministry. Two years ago, on April 15, 2007 we were elected as pastors of Windsor Assembly of God!

This is where it changed for Glenda and I. God, as is his responsibility, has moved us after only 2 years! What is up with that! We were invited by Virgil Illum and Don Steiger, to join the staff at the Rocky Mountain District Office as the financial administrator. We responded with a "yes" and will start the next leg of our ministry journey on March 30, 2009.

We have prayed for adventure in our lives and God has accommodated our prayer. We look forward to our new role in the God's master plan for us and the RMDC.
